Panama Esmeralda vac pot style

December 2nd, 2008 · 2 Comments

The official start of the festive season began on Thursday and we celebrated it not only by making a special turkey, but also by brewing some special coffees. Not that I need a special occasion to brew an extraordinary coffee, but like I said this is the start of my favorite time of year.

The star of the coffee show was the Panama Esmeralda. This coffee tasted good for one of four reasons.

  1. The coffee chemistry set (vacuum pot) I used to brew it in looked really sexy and the sexiness rubbed off on the coffee.
  2. The mild buzz we had all obtained from consuming French table wine and cheese opened up the taste buds the perfect amount.
  3. The coffee itself is indeed stellar
  4. All of the above combine to produce a scintillating sensory experience.

My vote is for number four. In regards to number three these are some descriptors I heard. Coconut, cedar, sparkling tropical fruit juice, strawberry, and cherry.

What’s up with the carrot and corn cars? Are those your little coffee science pals?

Woah, that is one wild looking contraption. That being said… I would very much like to have some of what that vacuum pot is putting out.
